James E. Tyson and John G. Van Osdell opened Tyson & Van Outdoor Advertising in 1947. The company originally started as an off-premise billboard agency serving a much-needed niche market in the Myrtle Beach area. A few years later Mr. Tyson purchased Mr. Van Osdells share of the company renaming it Tyson Sign Company.

Poor management. The CEO is especially out of touch with today and needs to be replaced with someone who understands how to treat people without discrimination. The CEO, Ebbie Phillips, is a dinosaur who would rather outsource work to India instead of choosing to pay hard working employees working right in his own office. He has no problems firing a hard working mother after hiring her knowing she needed flexibility to work from home.
Instead he refused to accept the flexibility insisting she be in the office full time so he could see her "pretty face" regardless of her kids needs. And to make it even worse, this man chose to fire her just days before Mother's Day! Take your business elsewhere, this is not a company that is built on trust, this is an outdated company built on lies and discrimination.

This company has no honor. They deleted reviews on their Facebook page because the truth of how they treat employees was being shared. They do not honor their employee contracts and will fire you for doing your job anyway. They are now trying to hide this information and are not to be trusted to hold up their end of any agreement and don't deserve any business large ir small. Please take your business somewhere to be trusted.

You don't even deserve this one star but it was the only way I could get my message out there. This company turned off their reviews on Facebook because they couldn't handle the truth being exposed. So here goes: This company hired a single mother on an agreement that she could occasionally bring her kids in office AND work from home when needed. When a male coworker complained the CEO came in and fired her.
Her boss, you ask? The one that hired her on WITH the agreement stood by like the spineless coward he is, silent as the grave. Also, to be noted the CEO stated he wanted the female workers to be *in* office so he could "see their pretty little faces". That kind of male chauvinistic behavior is beyond deplorable and EVERYONE should be aware of the sexism and cowardice in this office. I ask you, consumer, please reconsider your options for your signs. #SingleMoms #ISeeYou #MaleChauvinismIsTrash #CowardsBeware

We had our aging sign resurfaced by Tyson Sign Company, and we love the new look! Debbie was a joy to work with, and the prices were very fair. They even repaired our existing sign while they constructed the new. These guys know how to accommodate an active business. I will definitely use them in the future.

Even though this company was outside my service area, Brenda promptly returned my phone call and answered all my questions in a polite way. Of all the sign companies I called, about 20 in all, Brenda at Tyson Sign was the only person that showed professionalism. I just wish my business was closer to them.
