We specialize in monuments in granite and bronze. Monuments can be personalized with graphics or sculptures of a favorite hobby, activity, club, fraternity, sorority, sayings or epitaphs. We believe that "no rock is too big." We also create and engrave garden and pet stones from smooth river rocks in sizes from 6" to 18". Popular now are Chinese and Japanese characters engraved on these stones. Our shop also creates sandblasted signs in redwood, limestone and granite for subdivisions, schools, parks and communities, offices and more.

I am a third generation monument maker. My grandfather, John Steven Warner was a foreman and designer, stone cutter and engraver, who came to Chicago in 1935 from St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was the founder of J. S. Warner & Sons Monument Company. My father Claud (Chuck) Warner learned the trade from him.
Redwood signs are made much the same way as monuments. The wood is glued to create the overall size, then cut to shape. The wood is primed and painted and the rubber stencil is applied. The design and letters are hand drawn and cut with a knife. The background stencil is removed and the sign is sandblasted to expose the grain of the wood.
