While walking into Knott's Berry Farm we stopped to admire the quality woodworking of the Calico Carver shop. As we were looking at the many signs we decided to purchase one as a gift for a family member. I was touched when a woman came up and told us that she had purchased a sign when she first got married over 30 years ago and how her children had subsequently purchased signs from here as well. Calico Carver appears to be a part of many people's lives for generations and we were fortunate to purchase one for my brother to celebrate his marriage of over 25 years. Enjoy your visit!

My cousin and I went to Knott's Berry Farm. The park was about to close and we passed Calico Carvers, and my cousin wanted a sign for his bar on Lake Havasu. Then, I said I needed one for my bar. at home! They explained that they were totally slammed and they couldn't possibly get the signs done in the 45 minutes before the park closed. But, they promised to make them and send them at no extra charge.
What I ordered was a relatively basic sign. My cousin and I joked about how we'd probably never get a sign, and if we did it'd probably be rushed and poorly made. Boy were we shocked! What arrived in the mail was a freaking piece of art! See my posted photo "Jeffrey's Margaritaville". My cousin's sign is just as awesome. These guys are amazing!
I know what they did for us was very special. Although this was a couple of years ago now, I'm still very grateful and proud of the sign they made for me! It is front and center in my kitchen!

This business is completely unprofessional. I was in last year and was helped by Tucker, who was a great salesman, had awesome energy, and made us a really high quality family sign that we now have displayed in our home. I came back this year to get another and was completely blown away with how horrible the customer service was. Definitely don't stop by this booth unless Tucker is working.

Very unprofessional! I commissioned this guy to make a name sign for my parents cabin for Christmas. I showed him the design, and he liked it so much that he wanted to make an additional sign for his shop. He claimed to give me a "deal" at $75, and I was promised that my parents would have the sign before Christmas. Well, they got it in time, but upon opening it, we see our name is spelled wrong! Additionally, he promised some color and he sends it in black.
I sent him a picture of the sign and the receipt (showing the correct spelling) and asked him to respond. I wanted a new sign or a refund. No response for a week. He finally texts me back after I call him and leave a message, apologizing and saying he'd try to get the new one in the mail in the next week. Two weeks have passed and we still haven't received or heard anything! I called, leaving a message, and texted my frustrations. Now, I have to wait. This guy is a joke. Make your own sign and save the hassle.

So figured since we just moved into a new house a couple months ago, I decided I wanted to start setting up my man cave. First things first-a sign. Came here and asked the guy to make us a sign with two lines. Guy charged us $50 and told us to come back in 3.5 hours at 4:30pm. My nephews had a blast going on the rides and hitting up the arcades by the time we returned back to the woodcraft venue it was already 4:40pm.
But the guy at the counter was sorry to tell us it would take another twenty minutes and asked that we returned at 5pm. Sucks, because we were hoping to leave the park already and make our way down to SD. But we complied and strolled around the museums had a couple slurpees and snacks. Came back and we even stopped by so I could get a face paint like Stu's in the Hangover 2. It's 5:15pm and these guys spouted some excuse I didn't catch them as they saw me approaching.
But as soon as I saw them whipping out a piece of wood and start sketching in my two lines, I rolled my eyes and couldn't help but sigh. They told me to pick it up at 4:30pm, and its now 5:15pm and NOW they begin to work on it? One of the guys made a poor attempt at small talk as I glowered at them asking if I had put the Mike Tyson/Stu's tattoo on the wrong side of my face. Really? Does it friggin matter?
I showed him a picture of the actual stars and he kept his mouth shut. They almost misspelled my name in the process too which thankfully I caught. Such poor attention to detail and poor planning. How can you open a business messing with a customer like this? Now me and my family have to sit around and wait for a guy who looks like he's still in high school and a middle aged schemer to make the plaque. It's 6:30pm now and my fan was getting agitated so I was just about to demand my money back but these tools finally finished and handed it to me. The letterings had missed some filling but at this point I just grabbed it and stormed off.
