Akers Signs is really our go to company when it comes to signage. Being in the real estate industry we have many properties that need signs and I would say that we probably use Akers on about 85% of all the signage needs that we have. And they're great. They're responsive. Their follow through is terrific. Their design quality is above everyone else in the community in our opinion. And we really enjoy working with them. If a problem ever arises, it's not an issue. They always take care of it. So we would recommend Akers to anyone.

Akers Signs was founded in 1972 by Dick and Sue Akers and quickly developed a reputation as being for quality sign making and highly personalized service. Dick Akers began hand-painting signs during his teen years, and mastered his trade as a member of the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany. The Akers family lived in their shop when their business opened.
Akers' experience with sign making is a primary reason we are an industry leader in Northeast Ohio and beyond-including Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Dayton, and many more locations throughout the country. Though we've been a reliable producer of quality signage since 1972, we realize our industry is not what it was 20 years ago-or even 2 years ago.
Highest quality signs-focusing on permanent exterior signage. Offering custom fabrication, channel letters and LED signs. We make the process of getting your new sign simple by handling details such as engineering, site plans, zoning and permitting. Beth Debord of DeHoff Development Co. - a real estate firm in North Canton, Ohio recommends Akers Signs.
Our congregation is very pleased with our new sign. It was a pleasure to work with you and your company from quotation to getting of the permit and the installation. The whole team at Akers really went above and beyond to make THE perfect signs for my new store location. I really didn't know where to begin (didn't even have a design besides our logo) and they listened to what my ideas were and made them into reality.

This company was so helpful when I was stressed to far beyond what a business sign should be able to stress a person. Michelle and the other wonderful people who helped in getting my sign made and installed made it so easy for me and took me from a regretting my decision to try to start a business to finally getting to be a ray of sunshine I needed to get me through.
I was to the point of giving up because of what all the others were going to charge me and the time it would take to get installed and they jumped in, gave me a great price, fabulous work and the best by far customer service I could have asked for. In the future when my business grows I will be going to them for ALL my signage needs! Thank u ALL for ALL u do! A+ 5 Star ALL the way!. Sincerely, Jenny Shaffer Absolute Comfort Mattress Company

I am a network / IT administrator at a small school in Kidron Ohio. We have had a sign through Akers Sign for a long time, since 2009. Near the end of February of 2020, the secondary power supply went out in our sign, so I called Akers to have them replace it. I have truly never worked with a business that cares so little about their customers. Every time I called, they pushed the blame to YESCO, which to be fair, they handle the shipping and manufacturing of the parts, but even still, I was always the one to call Akers.
I never have received a call from them. Even if the blame is on YESCO, Akers has done a terrible job communicating with us about the status of our project. It is now almost October (seven months later!) and our sign is still not functioning, and we have not heard anything from Akers. Every time I call, I get the same response: "Let me call YESCO and see what the status is.
I'll call you back" - and I never receive a phone call back. And for the cherry on top, as if 2020 wasn't hard enough for graduating seniors in May, the students that Graduated in 2020 were unable to take pictures by the front sign, which has been a tradition for years. This was a concern that I expressed to Akers in February, and they assured me we would be up and running by then.
Do yourself a favor, and choose someone else to install your sign. Akers will take your money and probably be great for the initial install, but if anything ever goes wrong, you'll never hear from them.

Michelle at Aker's sign's personally handled the customization & distribution of vinyl work for our fleet vehicles. Her response was timely & her work, as well as design, exceeded any expectations we had. Our company will continue to grow & thrive because of her diligence; we highly recommend working with this company above any others. - Cain Transportation LLC

The design process and installation of a YESCO sign in 2009 went well. After that is a different story. Late in February of 2020, the secondary power supply went out in our school's front sign. So, we called Akers Signs to service the sign that they sold and installed. Since then it has been "crickets, " or unreturned voice messages. We have initiated every contact either weekly or every other week with Akers Signs to which we have received the following responses; "the part (which must be the most difficult part on planet earth to get) has been ordered, " or "the part should be here in the next week or so, " or "let me call YESCO and see what the status is.
I'll call you back." They never call back. They are quick to blame the manufacturer YESCO, who also must care very little about their customers. We recommend steering clear of both companies. You could not call this a "run-around" because you would actually have to have an attempt at customer service for it to be classified as such. We never receive updates.
Communication is non-existent. We are told someone would call us back or stop-out to assess the problem, or update us. This never happened. The only Akers Signs initiated phone call happened after one of our tech employees left a negative online review. Even after that call, when Akers Signs indicated to us that someone would be out that same week to look into it further, similar promises yielded no further follow-up or communication.
So apparently I also am wasting my Friday afternoon because negative Google Reviews won't work either. It is now October and our YESCO sign (that was sold and installed by Akers Signs) still does not work. We recommend choosing someone else design and install your sign because you will be on your own after that. (In Response to Owner's Response on 10-2-20) The owner's response continues to deflect Akers Signs' responsibility to meet a minimum standard of communication with their customers or actually keep their word over multiple conversations (again all initiated after zero contact from Akers Signs.) Our organization recognizes that the sign in question is no longer in warranty and was willing to continue our business with Akers Signs to just get the sign functioning again.
Without clear communication or semi-regular updates, our organization has zero confidence that Akers Signs is zealously working on behalf of their customers. The "fault" or blame is on both Aker's Signs and YESCO. When a new sign becomes necessary in the future (because it is 11 years old) we will certainly be looking elsewhere.

As a small business in Canton we were cautious and deliberate in our decision to put up a new sign. Knowing it was an important and potentially costly investment we wanted to "get it right". We are so glad we chose to work with Michelle from Akers Signs! Michelle was prepared, thorough and transparent from our first meeting until the sign was completed. She worked hard to meet our specific needs and got the job done affordably. We couldn't be any happier with our new sign at Harmon's Pub! Thanks Michelle!

The whole team at Akers really went above and beyond to make THE perfect signs for my new store location. I really didn't know where to begin (didn't even have a design besides our logo) and they listened to what I ideas were and made them into reality. The sign had to meet 100 pgs worth of requirements from the developer, and they worked through every detail with not only me, but the developers/landlords, and my contractors.
All of this was out of my expertise and I placed complete trust in Akers with the project. I am THRILLED with how it turned out, and can't say enough good things about the whole experience. The whole team was timely in communicating (even when I wasn't!) and were transparent about quotes, proofs, and invoices. Thank you thank you! I know there will be more projects in the future.

I went to Akers to get a sign after another company dropped the ball. They jumped to action, improved the artwork that I supplied them, and got the sign box relamped and new faces installed in time for my reopening. Rick and Molly were awesome to work with. When you call a family owned business, you never know how serious they take their business. Akers is a top notch company that take pride in their work. I'm more satisfied then I thought possible. You can see my sign from space. Thanks akers.
